Calling All Budding Engineers and Programmers Who Love LEGOs . . . We’re Forming Our FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition Team!
We’re getting ready for the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition for the 2019/2020 season!
What is FIRST LEGO League (FLL)?
FLL is an international competition organized by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) where elementary and middle school students come together to compete on a specific real-world scientific challenge.
Working in teams, children research and develop solutions to the current season’s challenge and then design, build, and program a robot using the LEGO robotics systems.
Think. Build. Solve.
In our robotics team, your children will:
research a challenge that scientists face today
apply real-world math and science concepts
design, build, test and program robots using LEGO robotics technology
learn critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills
travel to a local tournament to compete with other robotics teams
Through working in a team, your children will have a fun, creative, and skill-building experience and make friendships with other like-minded kids.
They will learn the value of teamwork, respect for others, and discover their own strengths.
Forming Our Team Now
For this upcoming season, we will be fielding ONLY 1 team (max 10 students).
Similar to past seasons, team members will learn from and experience the fun of participating and competing in the competition, but, this year … we’re challenging the team to advance to the regionals!
What does this mean?
For every member of the team this means putting in the hard work and the can-do attitude for:
learning new advance programming concepts
designing and building the best robot
being 100% prepared with outside-the-class research and assignments
We’re forming our teams NOW (for children in grades 3 to 8).
For families new to this competition, we’ve scheduled an Information Session for Saturday, May 8. Registration is required and interested children should attend.
Please visit our robotics team page for more details and to register for the team. Once we reach our maximum enrollment, registration will close until next year.
